An image video reel is the most labor-intensive form of photo essay. The end result is similar to a slide show, but instead of text, you will need to record a voice of your narration. You’ll also need to save your completed video to YouTube and add an iframe to your site with the finished video. A transcript of your voice-over also needs to be included with the video.
If you’re not already familiar with recording audio in PowerPoint, uploading videos to YouTube and including iframes in your portfolio site, you’ll need to review a few resources, most of which are on Lynda.com. Lynda.com is free for all members of the Trinity community, and log in instructions are at this link on the Educational Technology site. Once you’re logged in to Lynda, here’s where you can get started:
- Here’s a link to a Lynda.com video that explains how you can use PowerPoint 365 (which all members of the Trinity community have access to with their Trinity login) to record audio.
- This video on Lynda.com describes how to upload your video to YouTube.
- Finally, you need to modify the iframe annotation on your portfolio site to embed your video. Instructions on how to do this are explained in this post.
